Infrastructure and Technology

High level design as well as detailed project planning of everything related to the infratsructure and used technology at the Anenhütte was done by Peter Tscherrig, engineer and constructor of the Anenhütte.

Drinking Water Supply (own spring)
Our own pure maountain spring (800m above the Anenhütte) produces water throughout the whole year and provides the Anenhütte with pure spring water.

Energy Supply (own hydroelectric power plant)
High up on the mountain, close to the glacier, the water is taken and all sand is removed. A 920 m pressure pipe (PE 315/200mm) feeds a Pelton turbine (15 bar), located in the turbine building, around 220 m east of the cabin.

Sewage Disposal (own biological purification plant)
Below the Anenhütte there is a multi stage biological clarification system. The purified waste water seeps away on a controlled way.

Waste Disposal All waste is carefully separated. (rubbish, glas, aluminium, PET, cardboard, kitchen waste). Once a week a helicopter supplies the cabin with fresh food. On the way back all waste is flown down into the valley. There the waste is properly disposed.
