Trails to the Anenhütte

The Anenhütte is easily accessible from Fafleralp on two very well-marked hiking trails. Already 300 m after the Fafleralp car park, past the “Gletscheralp” and before the bridge the two routes branch out.

Right over the bridge: Route via Grundsee
Straight ahead: Route via Guggisee

Ascent via Grundsee: 2 hrs (somewhat steeper in the upper part)
The trail passes the Grundsee and the glacier snout over a moraine ridge. From here you enjoy an impressing view towards the glacier (the Langgletscher) and up to the Anenhütte.

Ascent via Guggisee: 2.5 hrs (the slightly longer variant)
The alternative route from the parking at Fafleralp passes the kiosk and goes up to the Guggialp. This unique and exciting trail passes the Guggisee and finally reaches the Anenhütte.

Descent via Grundsee: 1.5 hrs
Descent via Guggisee: 2 hrs

Recommendation: By choosing different routes for ascent and descent. This way you can best enjoy the beautiful nature.

Glacial Educative Path (learn and understand ...)

The new glacial educative path leads from Fafleralp (bus station) via Grundsee towards the glacier snout and finally goes up to the Anenhütte (4-6 hrs).

From the Anenhütte the path leads to the Anensee and downwards to the Guggisee and back to Fafleralp (3-5 hrs).

This tour is very impressive and you can best enjoy the glacial educative path as a two-day tour with accommodation on the Anenhütte. A free flyer and a paperback book (CHF 6,-) on the glacial educative path are available at the tourist info, the kiosk at Fafleralp on the Anenhütte.

Guided tours for groups can be organized upon request. Please contact the Anenhütte.

Alpine Hikes from the Anenhütte

P&P Glacial Educative Path (Round Trip, 2 hrs)

A new secure alpine path has been opened and marked by Prisca and Peter Tscherrig-Schäppi in autumn 2010. This path passes the Anensee and leads over a bridge high above the valley in a secluded mountain landscape and goes down directly to the glacier.

Any use of the blue white marked alpine paths is - as always - at your own risk. The marks will show you a good walk way to the Langgletscher. This path was marked to the best of our knowledge and belief. The leaders of the Anenhütte take over however no guarantee. All decisions regarding tours, routes etc. are the full responsibility of the guest. Any liability on the part of those responsible of the Anenhütte for damages of any kind which may arise from the usage of this path for the guest is excluded.

Moraine Trail (hiking back and forth, 3 hrs)

This ascent ressembles a stairway to heaven. With a steady gradient you walk up the moraine in the direction of the Jägiknubel. Constantly the vew broadens and new perspectives open up until finally the Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe (4,810 masl) shows up in his full beauty.

Anensee (hiking back and forth, 15 min)

Calm, idyllic and full of love of life. The Anensee is a place to stay and enjoy. Simply great!

Capricorn Hollow (hiking back and forth, 45 min)

On the evening before dusk the capricorns living above the Anenhütte return to a hollow close to the Anenhütte to stay here for the night. From a safe distance and yet very close, you can admire these powerful and fascinating animals without disturbing them.
